Unity Classes

Unless otherwise stated all Workshops and Classes are offered on a love offering basis and all are welcome. Call the Unity office   908-730-8792 to register.

 
 
  • Monday - A Course In Miracles 7:00-8:30 PM at Unity. Bob Beers facilitates. This is an ongoing group whose purpose is to support students of the Course and answer any questions they have whenever the need arises. There is no structure, so that regular attendance is not important from that standpoint.
  • Wednesdays - A Course In Miracles 7:30-9 PM. At the Beavins. Facilitated by Lainie Beavin Call 908-537-4448
  • Thursdays - Warren, NJ at the home of Marylou Ulincy from 7:00 -8:30pm.

Integral Leadership and Church Growth

Saturday, May 17, 2008, 9:00 AM. – 4:00 PM.

 This seminar integrates Spiral Dynamics and the integral principles to formulate an All Quadrant / All Level (AQAL) understanding of ministry. This ground-breaking application of integral principles based on the doctoral research of Gary Simmons, Th.D. has won praise from Ken Wilber.

Integral Leadership is about modeling a way of relating to opportunities and challenges of ministry that inspire other to take up meaningful roles in the life of the church. Church growth is about increasing ownership, raising consciousness, growing energy, and creating a culture of peacemaking.

These shifts in our traditional concepts of church leadership and growth make healthy and energetic ministry possible.

Topics include:

  • The psychology of underlying ministry as relating to church size and type
  • Integral Leadership: Moving from Parenting to Partnering, from leading to leadership development
  • The Integral Model of Ministry and Second-tier practices
  • Moving from a Pastor / Flock to a Community-centric model of ministry
  • Overcoming the systemic problems associated with church growth
  • The three congregations in every ministry and their unique attributes
  • How to create membership competence by creating value in membership

Gary Simmons, Th.D., is Director of Integral Operations for the Association of Unity Churches International. He is author of Unity’s best seller The I of the Storm: Embracing Conflict, Creating Peace now in its eighth printing, and numerous articles and papers on the subject of peacemaking, church growth, and creating healthy ministries. He is also a contributing author to Sacred Secrets and was the 2004 recipient of the prestigious Myrtle Fillmore Award.
