THE GAME—January 17th

Every year around this time we usually have a social event (we call them Round Robins) during which time we play "THE GAME.” However, this year, it seems our calendar is already very full in November & December, so we have moved our plans into the new year. Sunday, January 17th, please plan to bring a covered dish with you. After the Service,
we will enjoy a luncheon together, and play THE GAME.
The fact that we're doing it after Christmas may very well be a boon.
For those not familiar with THE GAME, this is how it works:
1. Look through the things you have at home (Christmas gifts??) and find one that, in your estimation is either odd, doesn't match your decor, or so unusual or hideous that you'd be happy to unload it.
2. Wrap it in pretty paper (with a bow if you'd like).
3. Bring it with you to Unity on Jan. 17th.
After we eat, we'll play THE GAME. We'll explain the rules when it's time to play, but needless to say, it's a riot to play and you get to unload the thing.

    Why do yoga?

The short answer is that yoga makes you feel better. Practicing the postures, breathing exercises and meditation makes you healthier in body, mind and spirit. Yoga lets you tune in, chill out, shape up -- all at the same time. For starters, yoga is good for what ails you. Specifically, research shows that yoga helps manage or control anxiety, arthritis, asthma, back pain, blood pressure, carpal tunnel syndrome, chronic fatigue, depression, diabetes, epilepsy, headaches, heart disease, multiple sclerosis, stress and other conditions and diseases. What's more, yoga:

    • Improves muscle tone, flexibility, strength and stamina
    • Reduces stress and tension
    • Boosts self esteem
    • Improves concentration and creativity
    • Lowers fat
    • Improves circulation
    • Stimulates the immune system
    • Creates sense of well being and calm

FUND-RAISER $$$
Gold & Platinum Jewelry Collection

Lost an earring lately? How about that broken chain or necklace that lies around in your jewelry box. Old rings, little broken bits of things?

It doesn't matter how small or in what kind of shape it's in. If it's made of
gold or platinum, bring it in to Unity. We will take it and have it converted into
funds for our Center!

Deb Coscia is coordinating this fund-raiser, but feel free to give your donations-toward-the-cause to any board member. They'll make sure Deb gets them.
