Youth Ministry News
Youth ministry will kick off its 2007/2008 educational year on Sunday, September 9th, 2007.
Teachers will be present and will welcome returning and new students with a special get-to know-you activity.
That includes students for all classes:
- Uniangels - preschool - first grade
- Unikids - second - fifth grade
- Uniteens - sixth - eighth grade
- YOU (Youth of Unity) - ninth - twelfth grade.
As always, there is a Unitots caregiver for infants through 4 years old.
This year we are excited to announce that we are using a new curriculum which is based on the five Unity principles. Students in the Uniangels, Unikids and Uniteens classes will learn about Unity's 5 principles through bible stories, puppet shows, skits, games, crafts and more.
YOU’s theme for the coming year is “Being Peace in a Violent World.” With the active participation of YOU’ers, we will explore the nature of peace and its attainability, drawing upon Unity principles, the teachings of various ancient spiritual traditions and contemporary thinkers, and experiential inquiry to find our own answers. We also look forward to Eastern Region rallies and our own outdoor spiritual adventure this fall.
** And!! - early in the fall we will be hosting a family workshop given by James Scott, child consultant for the Eastern Region of Unity, who will teach everyone about Unity's Five Principles in a fun and memorable way. You don't want to miss this!! Please watch for more information coming soon.
Youth ministry classes run from the second Sunday in September until the second Sunday in June, and include two special programs that the children present to the congregation: a Christmas program the third Sunday in December and an end of year program the second Sunday in June. The last Sunday of each month is a family service, and no education classes are held. Exact dates for special programs and family services are published as the dates get closer.
