Youth Ministry at Unity Spiritual Center
Youth Ministry classes meet on Sundays at the same time as the adult service, from the second Sunday in September until the second Sunday in June. Classes meet in Kids’ World every Sunday except the last one of the month:
• Uni-angels - preschool through first grade
• Uni-kids - second through fifth grades
• Uni-teens - sixth through eighth grades
On the last Sunday of each month, Unity Spiritual Center holds a family service and all are welcome.
- YOU class (for high school students) meets on the first and third Sunday of every month in the minister’s office.
- Nursery care is available every Sunday for our Unitots – infants through age 4.
- Uniangels, Unikids and Uniteens assemble for an opening circle every Sunday, before their respective classes begin, which consists of prayer, sharing and love offering.
Unity’s principles form the foundation of the spiritual education program at Unity Spiritual Center.
5 Basic Unity Principles
Adapted for Children and Teens
-
God is all good and active in everything, everywhere.
-
I am naturally good because God’s divinity is in me and in everyone.
-
I create my experiences by what I choose to think and what I feel and believe.
-
Through affirmative prayer and meditation I connect with God and bring out the good in my life.
-
I do and give my best by living the Truth I know. I make a difference!
Youth ministry presents program for the entire congregation twice during the year: a Christmas program in December and a year-end program on the second Sunday in June.

2009 – 2010 curriculum
Uniangels and Unikids
The curriculum being used this year is In the Forest of Finding Out, developed by Rev. Diane Venzera. This curriculum explores Unity truth principles through bible stories and children's literature. *
* until the end of March, 2010, the curriculum in use is A Season of Lent - a metaphysical exploration of the events surrounding Easter.
-
YOU
This year, YOUer’s are examining what each of us believes and the foundation of those beliefs, as tested in the laboratory of life. Additionally, we are focusing on a number of service projects over the course of the year. We will be attending regional YOU Rallies in October, January and April.
|
Uniteens
The curriculum being used this year is Bring On the Basics, from the Association of Unity Churches. This set of lessons helps Uniteens understand how to integrate Unity's 5 Basic Principles into their daily lives. *
Uniteens are actively involved in fund-raising activities throughout the year, which help pay for their attendance twice yearly at Uniteen retreats - events sponsored by the Eastern Region of the Association of Unity Churches.
